"Trossen" is part of five works that tell the story of Frederikshavn's closeness to the sea.
Henrik Rosendal was born on May 17, 1932, in Thorshøj near Sæby, and has had a long career as both a folk high school teacher and hymn writer. He gained significant recognition for his love song "Du kom med alt hvad der var dig," which was written in 1981. The song is inspired by Rosendal's deep feelings for the friend he lived with for 20 years after ending his marriage to follow his sexual orientation. This song has become one of the most beloved in the Danish folk song tradition and is a powerful expression of personal love.
In celebration of Frederikshavn's 200th anniversary as a market town, the Byfonden has gifted the city five artworks, now displayed at Lodstorvet. These works were created by photographer Linda Suhr of Suhr Production and add a visual dimension to the city's celebration. Rosendal's significant contribution to Danish culture and song tradition supports the artistic heritage that Frederikshavn cherishes.
